Bringing the freedom of "image stabilization" to spotting scopes. Make high magnification more accessible and get more out of it!

This next-generation spotting scope features a powerful image stabilization mechanism that overturns conventional opinion about high-magnification observation.

Until now, tripod mounting was essential for high-magnification observations ranging from 20x to 42x. Vixen's unique "Vibration Canceller" mechanism breaks that convention. By enabling handheld observing, you can capture everything from the fine texture of bird feathers or lunar craters to distant sports scenes with unprecedented dynamism and freedom.

Vixen Spotting Scope Aterascope ED HR20-42x58WP Description

  • Outstanding vibration damping performance specifically designed for high magnification.

Equipped with an advanced anti-vibration mechanism using 2-axis gimbal control, it effectively suppresses everything from subtle tremors to larger movements that can make high-magnification observation difficult. It provides a stable view even at exceptionally high magnifications of up to 42x, far beyond the limits of conventional handheld observation.

  • A sharp view delivered by superior optics.

To achieve the highest optical performance, the objective lens employs ED glass (extra-low dispersion glass) to minimize chromatic aberration. Even at high magnifications, the Aterascope delivers extremely detailed, sharp images with minimal chromatic aberration.

All optical surfaces are fully multi-coated with three or more layers of anti-reflective coatings, and the prisms are treated with Phase Correction Coating and Super High Reflectivity (SHR) Coating to minimize light loss effectively. The remarkably bright, high-contrast view vividly reveals fine details of the subject you are observing.

  • A dedicated grip strap that supports comfortable, easy handheld observation.

The Aterascope comes standard with a dedicated grip strap that allows you to hold the body securely with one hand. Because the strap supports the entire back of your hand, it significantly reduces arm fatigue during quick observations on the move or extended periods of tracking. It is ideal for active observers who move freely around the field.

  • Supports tripod mounting and slim attachment plates for more stable, precise observation.

It also offers greater convenience for extended observation. In addition to a standard 1/4"-20 UNC tripod socket, the Aterascope comes equipped with a mounting base compatible with slim attachment plates. It can be attached directly to a compatible tripod head without the need for an attachment plate, significantly reducing setup time and effort. This allows you to smoothly switch between handheld and tripod-mounted observation according to the situation.

  • IPX7 waterproof and durable design built to withstand harsh environments.

Designed for demanding outdoor use, it offers a high level of waterproof construction, equivalent to IPX7. The nitrogen-filled scope body prevents the optical system from fogging caused by rapid temperature changes in cold or rainy conditions. Powered by two readily available AAA alkaline batteries, it provides up to approximately 18 hours of continuous operation*, ensuring reliable use even during extended fieldwork.

    * Based on fresh alkaline batteries used in a 20°C environment.
