With a High-performance SD Lens, enjoy Clear Views Without Perceptible Color Fringing!

The objective lens uses SD (Super ED) glass, renowned for its superior optical performance among ED glasses. By suppressing chromatic aberration to an exceptional degree, it minimizes color fringing and delivers clear, sharp images of stars.

This prevents the stars and the lunar limb from appearing purple, allowing them to be captured with true clarity in astrophotography.

Light Loss is minimized with Multi-coatings

All optical surfaces of the lenses are multi-coated to minimize light reflection, reducing stray light and preserving contrast for exceptionally sharp and clear images.

Short Optical Tube Design

Weighing just 2.5 kg and featuring a retractable dew shield, it is extremely compact for storage, making grab-and-go and setup easy. It comes with a dovetail plate for quick attachment to and detachment from a mount. Compatible with both the Vixen dovetail and the thin-dovetail standards, it allows for easy switching of the optical tube between an equatorial mount and a camera platform.

Equipped with a Dual-speed Focuser for Precise Focus Adjustment

It comes standard with a dedicated dual-speed focuser, allowing both coarse and fine focus adjustments. The fine-focus reduction ratio is approximately 10:1, making it especially useful for the precise focusing required in astrophotography or high-magnification observing.

An electric focuser from ZWO or equivalent can also be attached.

Extra Finder Bracket Shoe attachable

In addition to the finder bracket shoe provided, an optional dovetail finder bracket shoe can be attached to the focuser or on top of the tube rings.

Optional Focal Reducer for Serious Astrophotography

In combination with the dedicated SDE focal reducer, it quickly converts the telescope into a 346 mm (F4.8) telephoto lens for deep-sky imaging. Its short focal length makes it easy to handle, making it ideal for beginners in prime-focus astrophotography. It covers a 30 mm image circle, making it suitable for APS-C–size sensors or smaller.

Aluminum Case included for Safety Transport

A carry case that accommodates the complete SDE72SS optical tube assembly is included as standard. The optical tube and various accessories can be stored neatly, while the sturdy aluminum case provides reliable protection for your equipment.
