An ultra-low-power, wide-field eyepiece that can replace a traditional finderscope without any need for optical alignment. It is ready to use by attaching it to the telescope's visual back instead of standard eyepieces.
This is a simple 100mm focal length eyepiece with crosshairs. By replacing a standard eyepiece with this one, your telescope can function as an aiming scope. Its long focal length offers low magnification, producing a wide field of view adequate for use as a finderscope.
For a telescope with a 600mm focal length:
Magnification = Telescope focal length (600mm) ÷ Finder eyepiece focal length (100mm) = 6×
Because this finder eyepiece 100 is used by swapping it with the standard eyepiece, it is easy to use without aligning a finderscope—a task that can be challenging for beginners. Once the target object is centered in the crosshairs by you, replace it with your observation eyepiece, refocus, and start your observation.
