This heater prevents dew condensation (fogging) on ??lenses, which is common in astrophotography. Based on the Lens Heater 360IV which has an excellent reputation for its ease of use and performance, this heater has been upgraded to be compatible with astronomical telescopes. It runs on DC12V with a USB-PD compatible power supply and can be used with your preferred power level using the controller. By wrapping it around the objective lens of your telescope, you can prevent condensation which is a major enemy of astro-photography and avoid missing out on valuable photography opportunities.
When a lens is exposed to air that contains water vapor (gas) which is colder than the air temperature, the temperature of the water vapor in contact with the lens drops, causing it to liquefy and adhere to the lens (dew condensation). The 380-12V Lens Heater effectively prevents dew condensation by keeping the lens temperature from dropping below the air temperature.
The optimal power consumption is set to maintain the lens dew condensation prevention effect for a long time. Energy-saving design that can last up to approximately 10.3 hours when using a 10,000mAh mobile battery*. You can concentrate on shooting for long periods of time without worrying about battery consumption. In addition, the impact of heat on lens performance is kept to a minimum. (*When using 20℃ and power controller Low. Depends on outside temperature, usage environment, and battery characteristics)
Supplied with a power controller (3 steps) that can control optimal power consumption (detachable). Press and hold the button to function as a power switch, and every time you press the button, it will cycle through Hi (6W) - Mid (4.5W) - Low (3.6W) - Hi... You can also use it without the controller if you prefer (power consumption is fixed at 6W).
It can be wrapped around cylinders (approximately) with a length of 30mm or more and an outer diameter of φ45 to φ180mm. It is compatible with a variety of lens devices, including eyepieces, optical tubes, and camera lenses. In particular, if the outer diameter is 140mm or less, the heating element (20 x 440mm) will go around the cylinder, ensuring maximum effect at all times.
Ultra-thin and flexible heater material: Carbon nanotube is used as the heating element. In addition, the exterior is made of a mild fastener material that is quiet and has a good adhesiveness that does not require much force to remove. There is no rattling sound when attaching and removing, so it is stress-free and quick to attach and remove, and you don't waste time on shooting.
The lens contact surface of the heater is treated with an anti-slip coating, and a finger hook is provided on the side. By wrapping the heater around the finger hook with a light tension, it can be easily and securely fixed, reducing the heater's misalignment during use. The finger hook is also equipped with a mild fastener, so it can be folded and attached to prevent it from interfering with the angle of view during shooting.
Its flexibility prevents the camera from falling over if it accidentally catches on the power cord, and it can be wrapped around a small aperture tube with just the light amount of tension, reducing blurring caused by the cord swaying in the wind while shooting.
The heater can be powered by USB PD power (optional or commercially available) using the included trigger cable PD12V. The heater body also has a dia. 2.1 DC jack on the curled cord terminal, and is compatible with the AC adapter PD12V-3A (optional) or a commercially available 12V power supply (dia. 2.1 DC plug/inner diameter 2.1mm, outer diameter 5.5mm, center-plus).
