The new SSW series of eyepieces are designed with an ultra-wide 83 degree apparent field of view. The SSW eyepieces allow you to see an area that is three times as wide as eyepieces with a moderate 45°or 50°field of view. With this wide field of view, you see many more stars across your eyepiece. The SSW eyepiece deliver clear and high contrast images with no hint of ghost and flare throughout the field of view due to its advanced multi-coating technology. Ultra-wide 83 degree apparent field of view
"Apparent field of view" means the range that you can see at once when you look through the eyepiece. The apparent field of view is 45 to 50 degrees with standard eyepiece and 60 to 70 degrees in wide vision type, but SSW is ultra wide field of view of 83 degrees.

Sharp images
The wide view type eyepiece tends to be distorted the images near the edge of field of view, but SSW is different. SSW adopts high-grade lanthanum-based glass as the lens material and it features high-transmission/low dispersion. This combination offers unparalleled contrast and sharpness. (7 elements in 4 groupe lens design.)

Enough quantity of light
By devising the arrangement of the lenses, the diaphragm and the diameter so as not to shield the light, approximately 100% of the light quantity was secured even in the most peripheral part of the field of view. Almost complete brightness can be obtained not only in the center but also in the periphery where dimming is likely to occur.

The body is color-coded by color alumite for each focal length. It has high durability and is also excellent in visibility. Also equipped with a rubber protector that prevents scratching and rolling of the body, it is also suitable for use in the dark.
