It allows you to attach a CMOS imaging camera equipped with M52 threads by replacing the inner 48mm thread ring supplied with a Camera Adapter 60 for M48 with this.

Suited for CMOS Cameras featuring Full-frame Sensors
In combination with the Camera Adapter 60 for M48 (sold separately), you can attach an instrument or accessory with 54 mm (pitch 0.75mm) threads to the focusers of Vixen optical tubes. This setup helps minimize vignetting caused by camera accessories when imaging with a full-frame sensor or dual-chip CMOS camera.

Compatible with Commercially Available Filters
When used in conjunction with an M56 Filter Conversion Adapter 48/52 (sold separately), commercially available 48 mm or 52 mm camera lens filters can be attached.
Cannot be used in combination with the Collector PH, Extender PH, Coma Collector 3, or SDP Reducer. -
