The SX2WL equatorial mount is the most affordable model in the SX series, which is designed for full-scale astronomical observation. It features micro-step-driven pulse motors—also used in the higher-end models of the series—and five bearings to ensure smooth, stable operation. In combination with a smartphone, it allows automatic GoTo slewing for an effortless, comfortable observing experience.

Wireless Unit Included! Cable-Free, Comfortable Celestial Navigation

The "Wireless Unit" is included as standard, allowing you to control your equatorial mount with your smartphone or tablet. By installing a free dedicated smartphone app "STAR BOOK Wireless" on your device, you can use it as a controller. The "STAR BOOK Wireless" smartphone app inherits the highly acclaimed interface of the STAR BOOK TEN controller, renowned for its ease of use.

Simply view the star chart displayed on your screen, tap the celestial object you want to observe, and the mount will automatically slew to it and begin tracking. Following the intuitive display design of the STAR BOOK TEN, the app is easy for anyone to use without difficulty.

The Dovetail Attachment System allows for the Speedy Setup of an Optical Tube

The attachment of the optical tubes is the dovetail system introduced by Vixen as a de facto standard. The optical tube can be set up easily without tools. Also, it is provided with a safety screw that prevents the optical tube from falling off.

Appropriate Placement of the Weight Balance enables Operation without a Counterweight

Heavy components, such as motors, are concentrated in the right ascension body, which rotates with the diurnal motion of stars and also serves as a counterweight. Depending on the weight of the optical tube, an additional counterweight may not be necessary.

Retractable Counterweight Bar, Convenient for Quick Setup and Removal

The counterweight bar is made of stainless steel for excellent corrosion resistance. Its retractable design allows it to be stored within the equatorial mount body, enabling quick and easy setup. The 20 mm-diameter bar is compatible with SX series counterweights.

Polar Alignment Scope PF-LII (sold separately)

The SX2WL mount is compatible with an optional PF-LII polar alignment scope, which provides easy and accurate polar alignment.
The polar alignment scope PF-LII allows alignment using three different star positions and features built-in dark-field illumination for high visibility through the scope. The illuminated reticle is dimmable in eight steps and automatically turns off to prevent unnecessary power consumption.

Vixen also offers a free app, PF-L Assist, to help with polar alignment by displaying the reticle in the polar alignment scope on your smartphone screen in real time.

AE81M Optical Tube Assembly

This is an entry-level telescope designed to let beginners enjoy serious astronomical observation with ease.
It features a cost-effective design that remains affordable while maintaining essential performance.
The objective lens, a key factor in image quality, is an 81 mm achromatic lens that minimizes chromatic aberration. Its multi-coated surfaces reduce light reflection, producing clear images with minimal light loss.
The focuser is a durable metal rack-and-pinion type. The telescope comes with two eyepieces (140× and 46× magnification) and an erect-image diagonal prism, which angles the light path by 90° for comfortable viewing.

The tripod features adjustable legs from approximately 80 cm to 130 cm, allowing you to set the height to suit your environment and preferences.
