VISAC stands for Vixen Sixth-order Aspherical Catadioptric, an original Vixen catadioptric optical tube design that, as the name suggests, employs a 6th-order aspherical primary mirror. It features a three-element field corrector lens within the baffle tube, which effectively corrects coma, spherical aberration, and field curvature across the entire field of view, producing 15 μm star images even at the edge of the photographic field. With an optional “Reducer HD” or at prime focus, it delivers outstanding performance for deep-sky imaging of diffuse nebulae and extragalactic objects.
